The Painter’s Paradise
Over centuries, the fabled island of Corsica has compelled artists from around the world, becoming known as a painter’s paradise. Corsica lies off the coast of Italy, near southern France. This unique and magical location enriched with breathtaking mountains, beaches and forests, has a culture unlike any other, in natural beauty unrivaled among islands the world over.
In September, the weather stays sunny and moderate as the local palette comes alive with hues from soft brown and cool green to vibrant orange and yellow. Indigenous plants and fungi carpet the ground in violet, red and golden tones, inspiring painters to their greatest expression.
Originally built for a Count in 1519, Le Manoir is finely appointed with period furnishings, while updated with contemporary conveniences and a working studio. Le Manoir is a modernized chateau near the historic village of Bastelica. Corsica is one of the few unspoiled spots in Europe, its historic villages preserved in time. As we can accommodate only ten participants, we appreciate your prompt registration to reserve your space.

Mara Gahagan has received awards for both fine art and design. Her work has been published internationally and featured in exhibitions in Washington DC, San Francisco, Philadelphia and New York. She was selected as a teaching associate by Mr. Stitt, following professional critique.
